I wasn’t going to do a cover. I mean, it’s a webcomic – what’s the point? But then I had an idea that just begged me to be drawn. I made a thumbnail that I liked and then a sketch that I thought was awesome. Then I inked the sketch and it looked like crap.
So back to the drawing board, or the Cintiq at least and edit, edit, edit… This was supposed to take two-three hours at the most and it probably took three days. The mojo just wasn’t there. Finally happy with it and I think this little cover is the perfect lead in to the story.
If you check back here you might notice that I edit stuff in the background. I can totally see myself going back to the pages and the cover, over and over again to fix stuff I’m not completely happy with.

looks rad
Thanks! I checked out your blog. Great stuff!
Love it! Especially how the font integrates with the houses and the sky. Levels Peter, levels!!
Thanks Andy!
And there’s more to it than that
. Domovoi, the title, is russian for house spirit, keeping the houses together. Thought it was a nice touch =).
The time changed sins the first book hey. You got me even more interested now
This will be joyful to follow.
Sweet.. Looks like an awesome setting and mood. This is gonna be fun to follow!
That cover sure got some Stockholm-mystique feeling about it! After checking out the character section, I realize that it seems that (this far) Domovoi and Домовёнок Кузя (the soviiet-cartoon i linked to you) have some things about the setting in comon =). I must say the setting surprised me, since I was expecting it to be something more like the first Portent. But I have to say that it was a pleasant suprise, because now I’m really not sure what will be waiting around the corner.
Looking forward to read it!
In short – This will be a fun ride for those who stick around. Just wait till the three Ukrainian witches on permobils show up.
I’m looking forward to your sequentials.
Best wishes,
Chris
Thanks Chris, hope you take your comic online as well!
I think I will…
Thank you Peter!
